Through Adobe Air programmers are able to incorporate Flash.  One such iPad browswer, iswifter, has created a browser that will allow users to stream Flash based content.  It has now gone a step further.  The same creators have been working on a flash version of a Facebook app.  Already have the free Facebook app from Facebook?  This one’s better, that’s right better.  Ever wanted to relax on your sofa and play your Facebook games on your iPad?  Your dreams will soon come true with the upcoming app, theWorx.

How is Facebook going to make money?  They have begun testing a feature where certain posts can get highlighted for a fee.  So if you want everyone to know that you just got engaged, just pay $2 and Facebook will make sure all your friends see it.  I’m fully confident they have other plans as well to keep the cash flowing.

Twitter has said they set up password resets for all accounts that may have been affected.  However, it may be better to be safe than sorry.  If you want to reset your Twitter password, you can do that through their help center.

It’s looking less cluttered than Google, but is also offering less options to filter search results.  Are those options worthy of the space they take up, or is less more?  As it often is in the world of technology, there are many options to fit an individual’s needs and likes.

According to the FBI some 350,000 computers could still be infected, with approximately 85,000 of those being in the U.S. alone.  The FBI had set up “clean” servers so those with contaminated computers could access the internet, and those servers will be shut down on July 9.  After that point, anyone still infected will not be able to access the internet.

This summer Mountain Lion, or OS X 10.8, will be joining the Mac family. Mountain Lion will bring along more innovation, much inspired by the iPad and more security measures. It seems the goal of the new OS is to make everything more iCloud friendly.

Considering some of the sites can be accessed anywhere at a anytime, such as YouTube, is this really enough of an offering to drum up more Xbox Live Gold memberships?  There will not be free access to online gaming, or other perks Gold member enjoy, as Microsoft is focusing solely on entertainment with this promotion.

Free entertainment is free entertainment!  So if you get a chance to take a peek at the action, enjoy!

• Use the battery.  Don’t leave your computer plugged in all the time.  Unplug your laptop to force it to run on battery power.
• Fully discharge and recharge your battery periodically, about once a month.
• Get as much time out of each charge as possible by dimming your screen and using power saving settings on your computer.
• Again, don’t leave your laptop in a hot car, or in direct sunlight.  Heat can reduce battery life.

Did anyone ever pick you up by just your head?  Just the thought might make you cringe.  That’s about the same as picking your laptop up by the screen.  They don’t like that anymore than you would like being picked up by your head.  Picking it up by it’s screen can ruin the hinges, making it nearly impossible to keep the screen up.  There’s not much worth in a permanently closed laptop.

Viruses and malware attack in various ways.  Don’t assume that because you only go on “safe” websites, that you’re laptop is safe from attack.  Make sure you have virus and malware protection running on your system whenever you’re connected to the internet.  Even while you have virus protection, be careful what kinds of things you click on and what kinds of websites  you visit.

Beware that while if you’re using free Wi-Fi, say in a cafe or bookstore, it may be relatively easy for someone to see that information.  If you wouldn’t flip your laptop around and show the guy next to you what you’re looking at (think banking and credit card info), you might not want to look at it while on a public Wi-Fi.

Take note if you’re saving data into shared folders.  It’s possible that when you’re on a public network others could see what’s in your shared folders.  Do you want to share that financial info with the girl sitting across from you at Starbucks?  If you don’t, you probably want to make sure it’s not in a shared folder.  Another way to protect your precious data is to make sure you have a log-in password, and it should be something other than “password,” “qwerty” or “1234.”

Just in case something does happen to your laptop, are you still going to have all those wonderful pictures of your nephew’s 4th birthday?  If you kept your pictures backed up you would.  It’s always a good idea to “prepare for the worst.”  Backing up your data can make a huge difference between just having to replace your computer, and losing everything.

LG plans to revolutionize the E-Book market with their new flexible 6-inch display.  Mr. Sang Duck Yeo, head of operations for LG Display’s Mobile/OLED division said in the press release: “With the world’s first plastic EPD [electronic paper display], LG Display has once again proven its reputation for leadership and innovation with a product we believe will help greatly popularize the E-Book market.”

This new display, at just 0.7 (approx. 0.03 in.) millimeters thick,  sports a resolution of 1024 x 768 and can bend at an angle of up to 40 degrees.  Weighing in at 14 grams (approx. 0.5 oz.), it’s about 1/3 thinner and half the weight of it’s competition.  Since passing a series of drop tests from a height of 1.5 meters (almost 5 ft.), the display is considered to be super-durable by LG.

ODM’s will be supplied to China, and the final product will be available in Europe next month if things go according to plan.

Spring is here, the weather is beautiful and the windows are open. Some of us, especially those without tablet computers, really love our laptops and want to have them around wherever we are.  Unfortunately we unwittingly harm our laptops by doing just that.  Whether you’re thinking about dragging your laptop onto the beach, or planning on using it to work from home, we have some tips for you.

Firstly, if you are indeed planning on dragging your laptop onto the beach, rethink this idea.  Sand, salt and sun are three things your laptop does not like.  Those elements not only can just harm the outside of your precious, but also can ruin it internally.  In general, your laptop does not enjoy the sun as much as you might, and does not have sweat glands to keep it cool.

Keeping your laptop cool is huge point to remember.  Laptops can be destroyed by simply getting too hot too often. Here are some things to keep in mind:

• Laptops, despite the name, do better when they sit on hard surfaces.  The cooling vents are usually located on the bottom, right in the place that gets blocked when they sit on laps or other soft surfaces (i.e. beds, sofas, carpet, blankets, etc.).  They also don’t like to be covered up by things like blankets.
• Cooling pads allow for increased airflow and, as the name states, help to cool laptops.  You may want to consider getting one, especially if you use your laptop on your lap.
• Much like dogs, laptops don’t do well when left alone in the car especially when it’s warm out.  Not to mention, someone else might like that you left your laptop in your car and you’ll end up having to replace a car window as well as your computer.

If you plan to take your laptop anywhere,  get a good padded laptop bag.  Though it’s more about keeping your laptop safe, than keeping up with fashion, there are many many options available of well-constructed laptop bags.

Throwing your computer into a random backpack or purse is not a good idea because they don’t have padding to absorb shocks and protect the laptop. Before sliding your laptop into a bag, make sure it’s turned off or hibernating, otherwise it will continue to run and you will once again be dealing with the issue of overheating.
