Clear 4G Speeds are improving in our area!

Since Eberly Systems is an Authorized Reseller for Clear 4G / Wimax, we are often approached by people with various questions regarding Clear 4G speeds, pricing, and performance questions.

As a result, we are often preforming our own tests on the network, and have found that results vary IMMENSELY, even just from room to room in a small house.

The thing to understand about Wimax 4G is that is that it is a very short-range, nearly line-of-site technology (meaning it doesn’t penetrate structures well). Therefore, when connecting and fishing for significant speed improvements, it is always a good idea to walk around, check signal strength, and even go online to Clear.com/coverage and find out in which direction the nearest tower is.

Clear’s network was built with more consideration for reliability than speed. However, in our own internal, non-official testing, we have seen speeds varying from 2mbps/.5mbps (up/down), to as high as (recently) 8mbps/1.5mbps! That’s even faster than you can (easily) find DSL in the greater Reading area!

Clear 4G is NOT a great fit for everyone it’s not available in some areas, and weak signal inhibits speeds in others. But, if you’re lucky enough to reside in a good coverage area (most urban areas have great coverage), you can very affordable pickup a High Speed Internet package that rivals the competitors in all aspects – speed, price, flexibility, and reliability.
