COD MW3 Approaches

AndrewSmither

The Fall season is approaching.  Though it is still a ways off, it is in the air and it has people talking.  Football season is here and the sports world is buzzing again.  Madden NFL 12 is here… oh wait, is that really important?  Granted, Madden is the most successful, best selling, and most anticipated sports game release.  However, I have no friends on my PSN playing it, and have seen no comments about it on Facebook.  This was not the case last year.  Why?  Because the shooters are taking precedence over it, even though they are only being anticipated.  We could argue if this will be the year that Battlefield Bad Company will finally take a piece out of the COD fan base, but I doubt it and am not blogging about it.  Though, if you want, feel free to comment and add your thoughts.

COD has become the most popular Shooter game to date.  It has dominated over any competition and even taken away from the Halo franchise fan base.  Granted, everyone has their critics and some people do not enjoy it.  But you cannot deny something that has continuously succeeded.  Activision has taken some interesting steps in making sure COD does just that.

My friends and I discovered that this coming fall purchases of select Mt. Dew flavors, including a new flavor Activision helped create, will have codes that will allow players to earn 2x XP.  Gamers generally stay up late, and usually use a caffeinated beverage to do so; gamers also love 2x XP opportunities.  The amount of time my friends spend online when COD has 2x XP weekends is 2-3x the amount they would normally spend.  I am waiting for more details.  I am curious how they are going to do this across Xbox, PS3, and PC.  Perhaps they may use their new Elite.

Elite, something that could possibly change the world of FPS/TPS.  As the video I watched stated, it’s like taking social networking and fantasy sports’ baby, and giving that baby a flamethrower.  If you haven’t heard about it already, I would encourage you to check it out.  It is going live soon and will be available for Black Ops as well as every COD forward.

Black Ops, in my opinion the best COD I have played so far.  The campaign was amazing and extremely well done.  The multiplayer was fantastic.  They added a combat training mode where you can team up with your friends locally or online to go against bots, or each other with bots.  They were also the first COD to allow 2 players locally to go online together using the same system.  I hope Activision has seen the success of these features and influenced the makers of MW3 to incorporate them as well.  For those that do not know, the Modern Warfare line and the World at War/Black Ops line are made by two different sub companies with Activision overhead.

One thing Activision has realized is the success of the survival mode Treyarch has brought in their two games.  Granted some people love zombies, but I just don’t get it.  Though, I do love survival games.  MW3 recently announced a new survival mode.  I am hoping it has local and online co-op.  Feel free to check out the link below for the video.

Lastly, I am still holding out for a co-op campaign.  I would love at least an online or local option, if not both.  Here’s to hoping as COD is the only shooter I have played that does not have a co-op campaign.  I, along with the rest of the COD fans not attending the big COD event this weekend, am anticipating the news of what all this game will have to offer.  We also hope to hear of the Hardened and Prestige editions of the game as well.

Modern construction and manufacturing sites are no longer just about heavy machinery; they’re digital ecosystems. Tablets, laptops, IoT sensors, and mobile apps are now essential for everything from blueprint access to production monitoring. These tools enable real-time collaboration, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. But when your workforce is spread across remote job sites or large facilities, keeping these systems connected and secure becomes a challenge. Construction Blueprint & Plan Access: Crews use tablets to view updated plans on-site, reducing errors and rework. Safety & Compliance Reporting: Mobile apps allow instant incident reporting and safety checks. Equipment Tracking: IoT sensors monitor heavy machinery usage and maintenance needs. Manufacturing Production Line Monitoring: Tablets and IoT devices track throughput and detect anomalies. Quality Control: Mobile devices capture and share inspection data in real time. Inventory Management: Connected devices streamline material tracking and reduce downtime. These tools keep projects moving, but only if they’re secure, updated, and accessible anywhere. Why Remote Access Is Critical Construction sites and manufacturing plants often operate in remote or rugged environments. Workers need secure, reliable access to company systems, whether they’re in the field, on the shop floor, or traveling between sites. Without proper management, connectivity issues and security gaps can lead to delays, data breaches, and compliance failures.
