Speaking of Search Engines

BeckyStrause

Yahoo has seemingly raised the bar in the search engine competition with its new Axis browser.  According to Yahoo, “Axis redefines what it means to search and browse the Web.” Axis combines browsing and searching, showing pictures of what you’re searching for.  The focus for Axis seems to be for mobile devices, but is also available on desktops. With it, you have the capability of starting a search on one device and continuing on another.  Axis also offers a personal homepage that connects your searching and browsing and remembers your last search.

It’s been asked, “why hasn’t Google done this yet?  It’s that good.”   Perhaps Google, and other search engines, will change how they do searches.  Perhaps, Axis will redefine what it means to search and brows the Web.  We will just need to wait and see.
