Spot the Station

BeckyStrause

Did you know the International Space Station (ISS) is visible from earth with the naked eye? If you would like to see it, NASA will send you an email or text message to let you know when it is a good time to look for it. Being that it’s the 3rd brightest object in the sky should make the ISS easy to spot.

NASA is calling this service “Spot the Station” and will notify worldwide users of good spotting opportunities.  Several times a week, Mission Control at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX, determines sighting opportunities for 4,600 locations worldwide.

For more information on getting spotting alerts, check out NASA’s website.
