Asus is preparing a 7″ tablet that can also be used to make calls. It has a 1.2GHz Atom Z2420 Intel processor along with 1GB of RAM, a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, and an HSPA+ radio. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and has a 1280 by 800 pixel display, similar to the Google Nexus 7 Tablet.
The FonePad is scheduled to be available in March, and will have a $249 price tag.
Samsung has the Galaxy Note 8.0, an 8″ tablet that can also make calls. The Note 8.0 features a 1200×800 touch display, a quad-core Samsung Exynos processor clocked at 1.6GHz paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage with a microSD card and runs on Android 4.1.2.
Samsung hasn’t released pricing info, nor a release date so we will have to wait and see if it’s worth it.
