The $99 Tablet

BeckyStrause

The good news is that Acer plans to launch a $99 tablet.

The bad news is that you probably won’t be able to buy it. .

Acer’s 7-inch Iconia B1, though having been submitted to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission for clearance, is aimed at emerging markets.  With similar specs to the Kindle Fire and Nook Color, 1024×600 display and 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Acer plans to undercut those best-selling tablets’ $139 price tag by offering the Iconia B1 for around $99.  The final shelf price will be determined country-by-country.
